One idea which we have developed and are using is that of a picture being dropped on the floor during and argument and at first it's just a still and then after panning in towards the picture it will start playing a clip we have filmed about a happy memory the two narrative characters have had together.
To do this we will need to film the happy memory in advance and take a still from that to then create a real life photo of the same image to drop on the floor to make a more realistic look.
After this we will then add in the motion of the clip in the editing process.
This sounds great, are you going to use split screen at all to depict your separate lives before you met like in Spooks? Similar idea to photo on floor: snapshots of George and amie when single moving randomly across screen (a lot of layers) and then one of them both together when grows bigger and fills the screen, like a black and white poloroid and then maybe some more in a montage effect showing different things they do together. Last one then becomes moving image.
